LOIS HERR FOR CONGRESS

Our Lancaster crew is out in force working for Lois Herr, a great candidate who is running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 16th District. Lois was born and raised in Lancaster County, and has extensive experience in business, education, and government service.
For 26 years she worked in the telecommunications industry, with Bell Telephone Laboratories, AT&T, New York Telephone, and NYNEX. During the Ford administration, she served in the Office of Management and Budget. Since 1993, she has served Elizabethtown College in a number of capacities, as teacher, senior-level administrator, and Scholar-in-Residence. For six years, Lois has been a member of the Lancaster County Planning Commission, which she chaired in 2003 and 2004. She has also served on the boards of Elizabethtown College, Lancaster Farmland Trust, the Women's Alliance, and the Society for Technical Communication. She is past President of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club, and was recently recognized with a "Visionary 2005" award by the Coalition for Smart Growth. She is the author of a nonfiction book about how women and minorities achieved more equal opportunities at AT&T, in large part due to her efforts.
Lois is focused squarely on the issues we care about, including Iraq, education, government ethics, privacy, and the environment; and she has a raft of endorsements, including ours.
